A-Rod and His BLING

Former Yankees player, Alexander Rodriguez aka A-Rod, had more than just a fancy watch on his arm during the Met Gala. His wife, Jennifer Lopez aka J-Lo, was bling-ed out and did not leave his side. The couple absolutely killed the red carpet game.

A-Rod wore a light pink suit jacket with black pants. Underneath the jacket was a white buttoned down shirt with a black bow tie. Not to mention, the shirt and jacket were a shiny metallic material, which was the focal point of the outfit. He looked sharp but had to wear something less crazy than his wife’s outfit.

Next up, J-Lo. She was covered head to toe in diamonds. This look was inspired by the recent engagement of the couple and their 16 carat diamond ring. She wore a silver fringed diamond beaded dress with a high leg slit customized by Versace. She wore a huge diamond necklace that weighed in at 129.48 carats, set in platinum. She also wore a beaded diamond wig and silver metallic heels. To accessorize the outfit she had diamond earrings, diamond bracelets and a diamond mini bag.

The couple looked stunning and stood out beautifully on the red carpet.

Game Day Drip

Russell Westbrook is commonly known to have flashy outfits. In a post game interview he said that his outfits represent his confidence and when he looks good he feels good. Westbrook showed up to Game 4 with a very flashy and unique outfit. It is always great to show up with “drip” because it helps build their brand.

After getting crushed in Game 1 and 2 by the Portland Trail Blazers and then winning Game 3, the Oklahoma City Thunder wanted to come out hot in game 4 to tie it up. Westbrook knew that in order to come out hot on the field, he had to come out hot with his outfit.

He pulled up to the arena in a half white half grey jacket that he ironically wore on one arm and off the other. Underneath the jacket he wore a stripped shirt with a red collar, tucked into loosely fitted pants. He topped the ‘fit off with a dark green beanie and a pair of sunglasses, yes he wore sunglasses inside. Now that is a look.

Unfortunately, they didn’t come through with the Game 4 win but at least Westbrook still is killin’ the fashion game.

Confident QB On and Off the Field

Besides being one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, Cam Newton from the Carolina Panthers has one of the best taste of fashion in the game. He refers to his style as drip, which is the new trendy word describing a good outfit or accessory. Back in September, Newton got ready for the game against the Dallas Cowboys by showing up in a pajama- styled outfit.

This was the start to his unique pre-game outfits.

A few games later he showed up in a crazy style of pants with a grey suit and a black bowtie. He finished off the outfit with a grey fedora hat. He walked into the locker room like he owned the place. His outfit choice really shows off the confidence that he has on and off the field.

At this time last year, he was dealing with the recovery of a shoulder injury, so this past season was his time to finally unleash everything he missed out on the year before.

Crop Top Drop Top

Ezekiel Elliot has made a fashion statement at the 2016 NFL Draft by wearing a customized Pantheon Limited blue and white stripped tux jacket with white pants, a blue and white checked button down and a white bow tie. Not to mention, the button down was a crop top.

Many were probably wondering why the button down was cut short to be a crop top, but take it back to the 2014 season when he wore a crop top while playing at Ohio State. He wore a cropped jersey so it would be hard for defenders to grab onto his jersey. Maybe he also just wanted to show off his abs????

Wearing a cropped shirt to this event wasn’t actually to show off his body or show off a male version of red carpet models, but to make a statement becuase the NCAA banned players to wear cropped jerseys (usually rolled up or tucked under) in 2015. He was hoping to build his brand with this statement. Not every male wears a cropped button down to a red carpet event….

Soccer Star, Alex Morgan, Named to Time 100 List

A forward for the United States Women’s National Soccer Team, Alex Morgan, was really into the “red” carpet look. She was named to Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people of 2019 so she was invitied to the Time 100 Gala and wore a powerful red suit.

The soccer star wore silver, strappy Manolo Blahniks heels with a bright red Styland suit. To bling up the outfit, Morgan wore shiny Ruchi New York drop earrings with a high ponytail, Forevermark bracelet, and a Hublot watch.

Professional soccer icon, Mia Hamm, wrote Morgan’s entry to be one of the 100 influential people. Morgan is such a confident player and a leader that will help continue to grow the game since so many players look up to her. In this feature of Morgan that Hamm wrote, she stated that Morgan deserves this becuase of he postivie impact on young athletes.

This outfit was extremely simple and chic, and Morgan dominated the red carpet just like how she dominates the field. She is an impact player for the US National Team and will continue to help grow the game.

Scoring Touchdowns or Style Points?

There were a handful of athletes at this years Met Gala. Among all of the great athletes who held off on their athletic outfits to throw on dress or suit, here are some football favorites who put down their shoulder pads and put on unique styles of tuxedos.

Tom Brady, the New England Patriots quarterback, attended the gala alongside his supermodel wife, Gisele Bündchen. The stunning couple completed each other with their outfits. The 41 year old quarterback wore a maroon velvet tuxedo made by Tom Ford. Brady’s outfit complemented Bündchen’s incredibly gorgeous pink, pleated, metallic gown made by Dior’s Maria Grazia Chiuri.

The couple kept it simple yet chic. Brady posted an Instagram photo showing off their red carpet look with the caption, “No we are not your mom and dad. #MetGala.” He knew that they both looked good and he has every right to brag.

Up next, The Cleveland Browns wide receiver shows up to the red carpet with a very unique look. Odell Beckham Jr. showed up to the Met Gala in a black suit jacket with the sleeves cut off, a white underneath layer, a black bow tie, a black pleated kilt, with black platform boots.

At first Beckham was unsure about how the sleeveless suit jacket would look, but the day of the gala he changed his mind. He definitely wanted to stand out with this one.

SaQUAD, I mean Saquon Barkley decided to show off his muscular quads with his Met Gala look. The New York Giants running back chose to go with an all black tuxedo look, but he swapped the pants with shorts. He posted a series of pictures on his Instagram, of him getting ready up until the final look.

Julian Edelman, a Patriots wide receiver, went with a simple black and white Ralph Lauren tuxedo look. He added two jeweled Fred Leighton accessories on his suit jacket.

The four of these fellas were in an Instagram picture posted by Beckham. Theses NFL stars definitely know how to clean up nicely.

Met Gala Money Moves

Serena Williams co-chaired the 2019 Met Gala with Lady Gaga, Harry Styles, Alessandro Michele (Gucci), and the editor of Vogue, Anna Wintour. She KILLED the red carpet game.

Williams showed up to the gala in a neon yellow, customized Versace dress covered in pink feathery, with strong shoulder material, and a long train trailing her from the back. However, it is what was underneath the dress that brought out the true athlete in herself.

Williams showed off the athletic side to her by kicking off the ‘fit with neon green Virgil Abloh Nike x OFF White Air Force One sneakers. The kicks were definitely unexpected for a red carpet event, but the tennis pro knew how to make it work. The style of sneaker is a classic New York style of shoe which worked out since the Met Gala has been in New York for the years. This also isn’t her first time wear sneakers to a formal event, as she wore bedazzaled sneakers on her wedding day. She knows how to make it work and she most definitely slayed.

Alongside her at the red carpet was her husband, Alex Ohanian who told the red carpet that he is “a proud husband” walking side by side with his incredibly chic wife. He was seen wearing a black and white tuxedo: black pants with a black and white jacket and a black bowtie. The couple owned the red carpet as they perfectly followed the theme.

Drake Flexes Designer Court Side

Alright, alright, Drake isn’t an athlete but he is always sitting court-side at games, so I guess he likes to consider himself one. In this photo from the Grizzlies vs Kings game, he is seen wearing unrealeased Off White x Nike Air Force 1s while sitting courtside. Sports are Drake’s addiction. Ever hear of the Drake curse? Where he shouts out a team on social media and then that team loses…… its a curse. He loves sports.

Some may think of him as a front runner since he is a Toronto Rapters ride or die fan yet he has been spotted partying with Lebron after wins, spotted at In N’ Out with Steph Curry, and he was seen wearing a Kevin Durant Warriors jersey on the first night of his Summer Sixteen tour.

Not really sure who he supports- just seems to support all of the big time players.

He is seen in this photo below wearing his own designer brand – OVO – in a camp hoodie.

Gucci Gang

Jesse Lingard is an English professional football player who is an attacking midfielder for the Premier League Club Machester United and the England National Team. He was spotted decked out in Gucci while chilling on a circular couch in Barcelona. He repping a $2,000 sweatsuit, with $670 white leather sneakers with the Gucci snake on it, and a $460 black Gucci “love” hat. He shows $120 white Gucci snake socks under his joggers.

Lingard joined the team in 2012 and has a contract until 2021. His current contract salary is 40 million (European dollars).

He is layin’ low and layin’ stylish. He captioned his picture saying that he is relaxing in Barcelona; enjoying what looks like a nice day off.

Odell reveals his new line of sneakers

Although Odell Beckham JR. has upset the many fans of the New York Giants, with his move to the Cleaveland Browns, he is still Nike’s most valuable athletes. He can rock any pair of Nike shoe due to his creativeness of style. He has dropped his own line of Air Forces but on National “Air Max Day” he revealed on his Instagram story that he will be releasing Air Max 720. This shoe boosts a bright and vibrant color that screams summertime. The shoe combines of neaon pink, neaon green, mesh detailing, tye dye and a splash of clear. We are not sure when these shoes will be released but stay tuned because you are not going to want to miss these!
